Caught in breathlessness, chaos, and rigidity that may have caused immunological responses such as asthma, hay fever, structural facial changes, sleep apnea, or even snoring, these ailments impeding your ability to live a holistic life? Perhaps you just wish to bring more awareness to your pranic field and wish to really understand how the breath affects your bank of prana.
According to the commentaries of the Yoga-Sutra, the Eight-Fold Path of practice counters obstacles such as chaos and rigidity. The Sadhana-Pada also reminds us that the main cause of these obstacles along the spiritual path is often a lack of insight.
This lack of insight is also pertinent in today’s scientific wellness model. Indeed, many modern remedies for both mental and physiological dis-ease now draw upon practices similar to the Eight-Fold Path of Yoga. One such similarity on the path is the breath: Pranayama.
Prana = Energy
Ayama = Extend
We are karmically born with a unique bank of energy; we can either choose to squander it or maintain it. Ayurveda promotes that with correct practice we can access our inner most being, thus providing insight to extending our Prana and improving our karma. It is well known within yogic science that pranayama is practiced to extend life and our bank of Prana.

Clinical Yoga Therapy for Stress, Anxiety, Asthma, Posture
Our breath and our posture intrinsically influence our health, mental and physical. Senior yoga teacher and yoga therapist, Craig Smith opens this weekend and shares knowledge of the innate inner wisdom of the breath in conjunction with ancient yogic practices.
As our breath is the manipulator of subtle energy flow, it has the power to cultivate qualities of calmness, peace, lightness, comfort as well as attentiveness. This brings simplicity to complexities, and connects our bodies and minds, allowing ultimately for integrated wellbeing and the space within for energy to flow.
Create optimal well-being by learning more adept knowledge of how modern science, pranayama, yoga postures and the Yoga-Sutra’s align to the notion that the breath allows us access to our inner most being. With practice and refinement well-being is attainable. Yoga postures will be covered to improve posture and breathing.
Pranayama & Meditations
Craig continues cultivating experiential healing by concentrating on the notion whereby the link to mind body awareness is bridged by the breath. Pranayama techniques will be taught with accuracy and precision to bring about physical and mental change. He further explores the capacity of the breath to bring remedy to suffering and enhance your pranic energy bank through specific practices of meditation.
Face and Body Reading - Yoga Asana
Be guided in knowledge of traditional Ayurvedic wisdom of face and body reading as it relates to health and dis-ease by Celia – an expertly trained Ayurvedic Medical Practitioner. Our faces and our bodies show a history, and with that the ability to understand more about our inner wellbeing and connectedness. Celia will guide you through face and body reading and cover such telltale elements as:
- Low liver energy
- Low kidney and/or adrenal energy
- Weak reproductive organs
- Weak prostate; future prostate issues
- Heart problems
- Low lung energy; chronic respiratory issues
- Chronic worry; high anxiety
- Low libido
- Unresolved, deep-seated grief
- History of high blood pressure (hypertension)
- Hypothyroid disorder
- Digestive problems
Celia will further her teaching by guiding you through yoga asana’s and the physical postures that will assist you in attending to the ailments found in reading. This will further the practice of the breath and holistic wellbeing.
Face and Body Reading - Yoga Asana
Continuing on, and to complete the weekend, Samantha further extends the practice of the breath by opening awareness to the body-breath-mind-breath-spirit relationship. Let Samantha guide you through breathing techniques that cultivate connectedness and insight and allow you to ultimately extend your Prana and improve your karma. Spiritual breath work can leave you feeling completely ecstatic, spiritually liberated and totally free by raising your kundalini.
Lunching each day at the Upper Brookfield Sanctuary
Everyone brings a small plate to share for lunch. It is a delicious affair. We love small and easy dishes; salads are always well received, so too small fruit plates, fresh breads, dips, and we certainly enjoy the creative plate!
