Awaken Your Inner Potential ~ Kundalini Yoga Retreat
Saturday 28 July 2018 & Sunday 29 July 2018
Full Retreat Rate $245
Mid year is the perfect time to awaken and realign your inner potential. In this captivating weekend you will find yourself immersed in nature, opening to karmic wisdom, and channeling the primal forces within.
Kundalini is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning coiled up snake. Through deep meditation and spiritual practice, the kundalini can be awakened and travel up through the body which cleanses and purifies the glandular system, nervous system, and energy centres. The kundalini can move to the top of the head (Sahasrara Chakra) to expand consciousness and help the practitioner achieve self-realisation. The kundalini is considered a powerful energy, and the body and mind must be conditioned to accommodate its movement.

Saturday 28th July is a Full Moon and Total Lunar Eclipse providing us with a wonderful setting for a weekend to dive deep into Kundalini Yoga.
The full moon enhances meditation and prayer. With a total lunar eclipse, the blotting out of the Moon this can represent a resetting of your emotions, clearing away the emotional baggage of the previous six months. Perfect for this midway point in this numerological 11 year. The 11 represents Mastery and so this is the perfect time to re group with ourselves and consider how far we have come already this year.
The eclipse season will increase our sensitivity and bring suppressed emotions to the surface. We can use this as an opportunity to recognise;
~ Clearing any programmed reactions that do not serve us,
~ Noticing feelings that do not nurture us.
~ Observing attachments that we don’t really care about and can finally let go of.
During this upcoming Kundalini Weekend we will explore Pranayama, meditations and Kriyas that will support you during this transformational and fortuitous time.
Ensure this day is booked within your schedule as Sam guides you through techniques and tools to begin to arouse the kundalini energy.
These tools include:
• Physical postures (kriya)
• Breath work (pranayama)
• Hand gestures (mudra)
• Vibration (mantra)
• Relaxation (Savasana)
• Meditation (Samadhi)
More amazing is that Kundalini awakenings can mimic trauma release from the body, giving you an active sense of restoration and rejuvenation. When people sit with strong emotions that are stored in the body, it allows for their movement and this process can clear the grantis (knots) that are stored in the chakra system. The process can involve heat, anxiety, shakiness and nausea that reflects a strong physical release – this process has been proven to awaken the parasympathetic system and strengthen vagal tone, allowing for timeless peace.
How can Kundalini yoga assist you?
Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is an ancient and one of the most powerful styles of yoga. It supports us to become physically, emotionally and mentally resilient by developing a strong nervous system, a healthy glandular and a resilient immune system so that we embrace a life full of confidence.
Kundalini Yoga is for everyone and is one of the most transformative yoga practices today. It is based on a set of exercises that is designed specifically to target certain areas of your body in order to strengthen them and help them release toxins.
Each lot of exercises are referred to as a ‘set’ or a ‘kriya”. First we tune in using a centering technique to call upon our inner guidance. Then we warm up and stretch out our bodies using movement and strong breathing. Each Kundalini yoga class is unique, but each will contain a yoga ‘set’ of postures and exercises that work on specific areas of the body, mind, and spirit.
The word ‘kundalini’ refers to our potential. The practice of kundalini yoga is both a technology and a science for all aspects of human living based on the realisation that our true strength comes from within, Kundalini Yoga deepens and expands our awareness on all levels so that we may awaken our full potential and grace.
A retreat leaves you with an overwhelming sense that you have nurtured your whole being and experienced something special. You do not need to be in perfect physical condition or share any particular belief system. Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association
