YOGA and MEDITATION RETREATS EASTER MONDAY
Mindfulness and leading a meditative life go beyond the cushion, as we all know. How do we start to cultivate this away from the practice of sitting?
In Burma, when I was away on a silent month long meditation retreat, we were taught to cultivate deep concentration and the art of mindfulness in all postures: sitting, walking, lying, standing, eating; ultimately seeing no differentiation between any of these states. In this retreat we will practice entering this continual stream of mindfulnesswith the following programme:9am-10am sitting meditation10am-11am indoor/outdoor walking meditation (please bring hat and sunglasses if you prefer to walk outside)11am-12noon sitting meditation12noon-12.30pm questions, discussion.
The body is a very useful tool for deep awareness. To awaken and fully experience life we need to be deeply grounded in the body. This “grounding” requires gaining a sense of understanding about our standing asanas, and the way we hold ourselves.Staying grounded means to fully engaged in the flow of life, present with people and nature, hearing, feeling, moving andessentially “being”.The body and our breath is our true gateway to this depth of life.
Come and learn all the postures of yoga, have some fun, and learn the breathing techniques that draw your attention fully away from the mind and deeply into the body.
Please bring a small & simple plate of food to share.
NEW TERMS begin April 15th. Please book here.

Autumn Chai
Sit down and slowly sip an extra-warming cup of gingery masala chai with some cloves, cardamom and cinnamon. Add whole organic milk and a touch of wholesome sweet taste to ground you.
