I have been reading a book of late that is mind bending, and I think it calls for a celebration. A raising of our arms in the air for how good Meditation and Yoga are for us all.
Norman Doidge MD writes in his new book about the ‘Brain’s Way of Healing Itself’.
It is a fascinating read into the recoveries of people with chronic pain, autism, learning difficulties, MS, Parkinson’s and brain injuries.
I suppose what thrills me most is that yoga’s aim is to create new bodily patterns (nava sharira samskara), and new mental patterns as well (nava manas samskara).
This new book by Norman Doidge reveals more about how people have achieved these changes through neuroplasticity training and hence, we have a match!
Our ancient yoga & meditation techniques and these remarkable new discoveries combine to show the way. This is the brain’s way of truly healing itself.
I am right into this neuroplasticity stuff at the moment! I am teaching it a lot at classes, retreats, and teacher training. No longer do I just have to be a believer, the truth is now much closer.
Many people have changed their lives through yoga. You can too!
This Yoga Celebration on the weekend with ‘Yoga at the Movies’ confirms the successful journey of so many and reminds us to keep moving forward…healthy, happy and serene.
