WELCOME TO THE NEW TERM
Staying present in the body means to fully engaged in the flow of life, present with people and nature, hearing, feeling, moving and essentially “being”.
The body and our breath is our gateway to this moment to moment mindfulness. This is the true power of presence. When we are no longer lost in the mind and fully engaged in the five senses, then we truly become liberated, moment to moment.
RIGHT ENERGY, RIGHT EFFORT:
It does require practice. Mindfulness is mind training. Meditation is a discipline. Ramana Marhashi, perhaps the most respected Hindu teacher of the last few centuries, said:
“No one succeeds without effort. Mind control is not your birth right. Those who succeed owe their liberation to perseverance.”
Practice continuously and with effort and you will succeed. This is jnana yoga, and is similar to always working with “right effort and right energy” in the Buddhist tradition.
Meditation teacher ROGER VOORHOEVE will be returning to Brisbane June 1st-2nd to practice meditation, mindful living, and the power of presence. Please do come along.
