Kundalini Rising ~ Kundalini Yoga Retreat

10.07.2017 by Celia //

Kundalini Rising ~ Kundalini Yoga Retreat

Kundalini Rising ~ Kundalini Yoga Retreat

About the Kundalini Yoga Retreat

Kundalini is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning coiled up snake. Through deep meditation and spiritual practice, the kundalini can be awakened and travel up through the body which cleanses and purifies the glandular system, nervous system, and energy centres. The kundalini can move to the top of the head (Sahasrara Chakra) to expand consciousness and help the practitioner achieve self-realisation. The kundalini is considered a powerful energy, and the body and mind must be conditioned to accommodate its movement.

Kundalini Yoga and Meditation use variety of tools to begin to arouse the kundalini energy. These tools include:

  • Physical postures (kriya)
  • Breath work (pranayama)
  • Hand gestures (mudra)
  • Vibration (mantra)
  • Relaxation (Savasana)
  • Meditation (Samadhi)

Kundalini awakenings can mimic trauma release from the body. When people sit with strong emotions that are stored in the body this can clear the grantis or knots that are stored in the chakra system. The heat, anxiety, shakiness and nausea that people can feel is considered to be similar to trauma release. Come and explore the awakening of Kundalini.
